Introduction
Palmarosa or Cymbopogon martini is a species of grass. The Palmarosa grass is of Southeast Asia origin and grows in dry, warm and subtropical regions on loamy soil. It grows well in June and July months. It is native to Southeast Asia, particularly India. It is a straw colour grass with white flowers and fragrant, grassy leaves and is usually cultivated for its oil.
The essential oil of Palmarosa is extracted from the fresh or dry grass which produces a liquid that is pale yellow and has a lemony scent and a rose smell. It has many excellent skin properties and is used as a medicinal aid.
